Lexington - Economic Development

Transportation

Getting around couldn't be any easier when you are in Lexington. If your choice is rail, freight carriers such as Winston-Salem Southbound and Norfolk Southern serve our area and passenger access via Amtrak is only 15 minutes away.

If you prefer the open roads, there are several options. Interstate and Business 85 pass directly through Lexington along with US 52, US 64, US 29/70, and NC 8. Other NC highways serving the Lexington area include 47, 49, 109, and 150. Our proximity to I-85 places us an hour or less from major population centers such as Charlotte, High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Research Triangle Park.

If you prefer air travel, the Davidson County Airport can accommodate your executive travel needs. A full taxiway to a 5000' x 100' runway paves the way for an airport that is quickly expanding. For more information about our airport you can contact Millenium Aviation at 336-956-7774 or email them at customerservice@newmillenniumaviation.com

If you are more interested in commercial flight options, we are approximately an hour or less from Charlotte-Douglas International, Piedmont Triad International, and Raleigh-Durham International airports.

No matter which method of transportation you choose, "You CAN get there from here".
