The City Manager, Finance and Human Resources support staff meet with the Mayor and City Council in late April or early May for a minimum of one to two budget work sessions to present the details of the proposed budget for the Mayor and City Council to review and suggest modifications. To comply with State law, City Council must hold a public hearing allowing citizens to comment on the proposed budget prior to adopting a balanced budget by June 30th for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Lexington City Council holds regularly scheduled meetings on the second and fourth Monday of the month at City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Visit the City Council calendar to find the next scheduled meeting.
