Firefighters Receive Awards
Firefighters showing the highest level of dedication named Firefighter of the Year, Fire Officer of the Year and two received Medals of Honor. Their stories of courage, honor and bravery were told at a ceremony.

Fire Hydrants Replaced on Queens Road
City crews have completed work to replace two leaking fire hydrants, which required water interruption on Thursday, February 15th.

City Council Member Resignation
Lexington City Council Member John Horne has announced that he will resign his seat on the City Council effective April 1, 2018. Horne made the announcement at the end of the City’s Annual Planning Retreat.

New Hotel Announced Coming Soon
MRI Hotels has announced plans to build in Lexington. The hotel will be located next to the Lidl grocery store at the corner of Fritts Street and Fairview Drive.

City Phasing in New Yard Waste Cart Program!
Tuesday's collection day is the first weekly cycle to try out the new carts, which are being delivered late January with a start date of Feb. 6th.

The dust is beginning to settle from one of the largest fires in Lexington history. Crews continue to monitor the mounds of brick and twisted metal that once was Dixie Furniture.

Natural Gas Main Replacement Project
Lexington Utilities is beginning a project to upgrade natural gas lines along Fairview Drive between Talbert Blvd. and Cotton Grove Road.

Economic Development Plan Survey Results
