City Council Begins Search for Ward 6 Replacement

Interested in serving as City Councilor for Ward 6? If so, candidates are asked to complete an Application for Appointment. At the end of the City's Annual Planning Retreat in February 2018, Lexington City Council Member John Horne announced his resignation as representative for Ward 6 effective April 1, 2018.

Citizens interested in being considered by City Council for the Ward 6 seat must live in Ward 6 and are asked to complete an “Application for Appointment” which can be found on the City’s website at or by contacting City Administration at 336.248.3910.

Applications will be accepted from April 9 through May 15, 2018. City Council plans to take an active role in reviewing applications from citizens interested in filling the vacancy for Ward 6. All applications will be submitted for review and consideration upon receipt.

City Council will appoint the Ward 6 replacement after the application process has ended. Candidate will officially take office on July 9, 2018 for the unexpired four-year term, scheduled to expire in December 2019.
