POWER RESTORATION CREWS: Emergency personnel and additional utility crews stand ready to immediately tackle the aftermath as weather conditions permit. Major restoration efforts cannot begin until the storm has passed; as utility crews cannot be placed in a bucket truck when winds exceed 35mph.
If the storm moves slowly or stalls, restoration will be further delayed due to significant flooding limiting access. Do NOT drive through flooded areas. Plan for the possibility of extended power outages. Utility providers prioritize restoration by attacking areas by the volume of customers on a circuit.
TO REPORT OUTAGE or other interrupted Lexington Utilities service:
- CLICK HERE to report online from a computer or mobile device
- OR call 336.248.2337 or 336.243.2489 (for ease in remembering 336-243-CITY)
If significant power outages occur, we respectfully request customers to have confidence and patience with the automated outage reporting system and the extent of the damage. Widespread outages and escalated call volumes will not allow for every customer to reach a call center representative. Lexington Utilities SCADA technology informs crews of outage areas. Plan personally for the possibility of extended outages.
Our commitment to you is to provide updates every 2-4 hours as storm conditions dictate.
