The City of Lexington Parks and Recreation department organizes two annual festivals each year, the Multicultural Festival, and the Fantastic 4th Celebration. Both festivals involve hundreds of volunteers and sponsors, and draw thousands of attendees from Lexington and beyond. Multicultural Festival - May 5th
The 22nd Annual Multicultural Festival will be held in the Uptown Lexington Historic District on May 5th from 10:00 am - 5:00pm. The day will be filled with the sights, sounds and tastes of foreign lands, and offer a wonderful and educational outing for the entire family! The event showcases cultural diversity through elaborate costumes, musical instruments, exhibits and entertainment. A Naturalization Ceremony will also be held, where people in the process of becoming US Citizens will attain their citizenship.
Check out some photos from last year's 21st Annual Multicultural Festival, and make sure to mark your calendars, and join us next year for the 22nd Annual Festival, the first Saturday in May!
Fantastic 4th Celebration - July 4
Every July 4th, people travel from all over the region to attend the Fantastic 4th Celebration at the Davidson County Fairgrounds and watch the fireworks in Lexington! Thousands enjoy our patriotic celebration and make it a part of their family "4th" tradition. The event offers amusements, music, concessions, and activities for adults and kids of all ages. Admission is FREE, and concessions and amusements are available for purchase. Lauren Light put on a great performance in 2017, and the highlight of the festival each year is the evening fireworks display!
