Fire Chief Phillip Hartley
Phil Hartley has been employed with the
Lexington Fire Department since 1988. He started his career as a probationary firefighter and has served as a firefighter I, II and III. He also served as a fire company engineer and as a fire company officer before being promoted to fire shift commander. Phil Hartley was named Fire Chief to lead the department in December 2010. He has an Associate's Degree in Fire Protection Technology and is currently studying at Western Carolina University to obtain a bachelor's degree in Emergency Management.
Fire Marshal Jon-David Everhart
Under the direction of the Fire Chief, the Fire Marshal is responsible for the city's fire prevention program including inspections, plan review, preparing and issuing permits and fire investigations. JD Everhart has been employed with the Lexington Fire Department since 2002. He has held the positions of firefighter and fire company engineer before being promoted to Fire Marshal in 2011. JD is a Level III Fire Inspector, Certified Fire Instructor and is currently pursuing his NC Fire Investigator certification and an Associate Applied Science Degree in Fire Protection Technology. He is also a member of the NC Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators.
Administrative Professional Kim Brown
Lexington Fire Department's senior secretary seamlessly coordinates the day-to-day functions of the command operations. These duties include processing payroll, purchasing requests and data management. Kim Brown has been with the City of Lexington since 1982 and has been with the Fire Department since October 2011. Before transferring to the Fire Department, she dedicated her services to the Water Resources department for 29 years. She is a graduate of Lexington Senior High School and attended Davidson County Community College; where she received an Administrative Assistant Certification.
