Recreation - Programs
The Robbins Recreation Center offers a wide variety of programs and classes for
area residents of all ages. Each year over 600 children and youth are involved
in athletic programs, enrichment activities, clubs and summer camp. Adult
and senior citizens are also active in opportunities provided by the department.
A few of our groups that meet regularly include the Genealogical Society of Davidson
County, the Eagle Coin Club and TOPS Chapter 182, a weight management group.
Several classes are also offered for those interested in arts and crafts.
Classes are offered in quilting, sewing, beginning pottery, and adult art.
Robbins Recreation Center also offers
opportunities for seniors. Three local senior organizations hold meeting and
information sessions each month. They are the Davidson County Chapter of the
AARP, the Southside Senior Citizen Club and the Club of the Golden Years.
The Lexington Recreation Department
is proud to offer a six week summer camp for
Lexington youth. Each summer sixty children are offered the opportunity to
participate in athletics, crafts and field trips at two locations. Themed
educational plans are also incorporated into weekly activities and field trips.
